UP: Woman Alleges Molestation, Says Doctor Gave Her Sedatives During Treatment And Blackmailed Her With Pictures of Act



New Delhi: A woman has alleged that a doctor molested her for 5 years and blackmailed her by clicking pictures of the act. Police have registered a case in the case. The incident was reported from Lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh.

As per the complaint, the woman has alleged that the doctor molested at his clinic after giving her sedatives during treatment. The investigation is underway and more details are awaited.

The incident came to light when the country with a lot of women speaking up about the harassment they faced at the workplace. Many prominent names from the entertainment industry and politics are coming under this campaign. Recently, Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar is also facing sexual harassment allegations by at least six women.

In July, a minor girl was allegedly gang-raped and physically assaulted by two men in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shlok Kumar had said that an FIR had been filed. He added, “The girl was immediately sent for medical examination and her statement is being recorded.”

In yet another incident, a minor girl was allegedly gang-raped in a hotel room by five men on July 19. The police had launched a search operation to nab the accused. The victim while narrating her ordeal said, “They raped me and threatened me to keep quiet. I want justice.”

In April, the Union Cabinet had approved an ordinance to amend the Protection of Children From Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act thereby recommending the death penalty for rapists of children below 12 years of age. Except for this, a longer jail term for all rapists and measures for speedy investigation and trial of rape cases has also been put.

The decision came in the wake of the anger amid people over recent rape cases. In March, in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, the body an eight-year-old Bakerwal girl was found. She was brutally raped and murdered from January 10 to 17.
