New Delhi, June 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the beneficiaries of Digital India programme across the country on Friday, at 9:30 AM. The programme will be broadcast on Doordarshan (DD). It can also be watched by using the Narendra Modi mobile App (Namo App).
The Digital India programme seeks to transform the country into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. This e-Governance project renders citizen-centric services, generates employment opportunities and promotes entrepreneurship.

Earlier on June 7, the Prime Minister interacted with the beneficiaries of the ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana (PMJAY)’– a government initiative that provides medicines at affordable prices, through video conferencing.
On June 5, the Prime Minister interacted with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries from across the country, through video bridge. This was the third in the series of video bridge interactions by PM Modi with various beneficiaries of Government schemes.

After interacting with Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries on June 5, Modi expressed delight as the interactions brought to light various aspects of the scheme that needs further improvement. Under this scheme, the Government plans to build around one crore houses in urban areas and three crore houses in rural areas. So far 47 lakh houses in the urban areas has been sanctioned for construction.
