Karnataka Congress MLA Anand Singh has filed a complaint against party colleague JN Ganesh for allegedly assaulting him, according to reports.
Singh was hospitalised on Sunday after he was allegedly hit on the head with a bottle by Ganesh at the Eagleton resort, sources told The News Minute.
According to NDTV, Singh has alleged, in the FIR, that Ganesh beat him with a stick, pushed him to the wall and threatened to kill him.
Congress had shifted its MLAs to the resort after the Congress Legislature Party meet on Friday amid fears of poaching.
Ganesh has now been suspended from the party. “As serious allegations have been made with regards to the incident, on the orders of KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao, MLA JN Ganesh has been suspended with immediate effect,” the Pradesh Congress said in a release.

Singh’s wife had threatened to take legal action against Ganesh earlier in the day. “If it is true that Ganesh beat up my husband, my children and I will not keep quiet and will take legal action against him,” Laxmi Singh told a section of media from Mumbai.
Congress had on Sunday denied reports of a scuffle between Singh and Ganesh. Party leader DK Suresh had said, “Anand Singh is admitted in hospital due to chest pain. There are no injuries or anything. His parents are here at the hospital. Other issues are just speculations.”
Ganesh is among the disgruntled Congress MLAs who was reportedly in touch with other dissidents in the party, according to PTI, and was on BJP’s radar in its alleged toppling game.
