IPL 2018: SRH Pacer Billy Stanlake Ruled Out For The Remainder of Tournament



Hyderabad, April 24: In a major disappointment for the SRH, Australian right-arm pacer Billy Stanlake has been ruled out for the remainder of the IPL 2018 due to a fractured finger, the Hyderabad franchise announced. “Billy Stanlake has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2018 owing to a fractured finger,” SRH tweeted.

“Indian and Australian orthopaedic specialists have advised that Billy Stanlake should not play the remaining part of IPL 2018 owing to an injury that he sustained in the match against Chennai Super Kings played at Hyderabad on 22nd April 2018,” SRH said in an official statement.

“Billy sustained a displaced fracture on his Right hand 5th finger whilst fielding and surgical reduction and fixation was required to restore function to that finger,” the statement added.

The Australian fast bowler has flown back to his country for further treatment and will not be available for the rest of IPL 2018.

The 23-year-old has picked 8 wickets for Australia from six matches, thus far in the shortest format of the game. He has the best figures of 3/15 in T20Is. However, it remains still to be found out that who will replace the tall lanky pacer in the Hyderabad outfit.

Earlier, Australian David Warner who was caught as the chief plotter in the sandpaper gate scandal was barred by the BCCI to participate in the IPL 2018. Thus, Kane Williamson was appointed as their captain following the dismissal of their first-choice skipper.
