Lucknow: Ashish Pandey, son of former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA who was seen brandishing his gun outside a Delhi five-star hotel, was at his Lucknow flat till Tuesday morning but left as soon as the video of him threatening and abusing a couple went viral on social media and aired on TV channels.
A Look-Out Circular (LOC) has been issued for Ashish Pandey and three Delhi Police teams are in Lucknow to nab the accused. An FIR has been registered under the Arms Act and sections of the IPC, including those related to causing hurt (323), criminal intimidation (506) and using force with the intent to outrage the modesty of a woman (354), the police said.
When the police reached Pandey’s flat, they only found his maid, Lucknow’s additional superintendent of police, east, Sarvesh Mishra said. His maid told the police that the BSP MLA’s son comes to the flat only twice in a month and that he left at around 9 AM as soon as he saw his videos of threatening a couple was aired on TV channels.

Pandey’s wife also left the flat at around 11 AM, the police said. Pandey’s last location was traced to Basti district. His flat in Gautampalli area and his office in Gomti Nagar were raided. A team has also been sent to Ambedkarnagar.
The 10-second clip, Pandey, wearing a black t-shirt and pink trousers, could be seen having a tiff with a couple allegedly over parking space. Another woman later joined in to threaten the woman victim even though the hotel staff tried to calm them down. The incident had taken place on October 14.
While the police are looking for the accused, the BSP distanced itself from the incident saying it has nothing to do with the party and demanded a proper investigation into the matter. “Whosoever he is, a proper investigation should be done and action should be taken. The incident does not have any connection with the BSP. He is neither a leader nor a member of the BSP,” Sudhindra Bhadoria said.
