Fredericton (Canada), Aug 10: At least four people died in a shooting in the eastern city of Fredericton, New Brunswick, police said on Friday. The circumstances are still said to be unclear and residents of Fredericton have been asked to stay inside and lock their doors.
One suspect has been taken into custody. “Police continue to on scene of a shooting on Brookside Drive. Please avoid the area. Police continue to have the Brookside area contained for the foreseeable future as the investigation is ongoing.” Fredericton police tweeted.

People have been asked to avoid the area of Brookside Drive. The authorities have described the shooting as an “active incident”. An investigation is currently underway.
The incident took place in the capital of New Brunswick. The reason behind the shooting isn’t known yet. A local TV reporter said he heard four gunshots around 07:00 (11:00 GMT). Video footage of the scene was posted on Twitter, showing emergency vehicles outside a house.
